Kimball Farm, Westford MA

Okay, so you've been to the beach and the pool, your kids have read every book in the library and you've seen all the recent movies -- now what??

One of my favorite local get-away spots is Kimball Farm in Westford -- there is so much to do and see here, it's almost overwhelming!  You can spend an entire day here and still want to come back for more.  Complete with mini golf, driving range, water bumper boats, batting cages, arcade, animals, seafood grille, fantastic two-story country store and of course, the ice cream! Open since 1939 and with over 40 fantastic flavors, ice cream is Kimball Farm's claim to fame and it is as good as ice cream gets.

You pay for each activity as you go and one nice option is the "Give Me Five" ticket. For $30 per person, you get a pass for your choice of 5 activities from the menu, including admission to Animal Adventures, 4 tokens for the Grand Slam Batting Cages and a regular ice cream, frappe or sundae. The options also include my favorite, a ride on the Bumper Boats -- with the rapids and waterfall, it's an exciting ride and a great way to cool off on a hot day!

You can really entertain the entire family here, and if you're looking for a great spot for that family reunion or company picnic, Kimball's can host your event for groups from 40 to 4,000. So strap on your comfortable shoes and bring along your inner child (oh yeah, don't forget the kids!) for some summer fun.
