One of the benefits of living in Bedford that we highlight frequently is how close it is to everything, and if you're looking for camp or activity options for your children, or just a great place to take a walk and enjoy nature, then Drumlin Farm in Lincoln is the place for you!
This year, I finally got my daughter a coveted spot in the summer camp. I have tried to sign her up for the past few years and it has always been full by the time I get my act together. This year I was on the ball and signed up the day registration opened and was able to snag one of the last two remaining spots during the session that worked for us.
When I attended the camp open house, I have to say just from that I can see why the camp is so highly regarded. From the second we stepped foot out of our car the staff and camp counselors were there to greet us. They were extremely warm and ready to answer any questions my daughter or I had. They allowed us to walk the farm and had a great parachute game set up for the campers. My daughter and I left feeling excited and at ease that her first camp experience is going to be a great one. My daughter is especially looking forward to the day spent in the chicken coop collecting the eggs and feeding the chickens.
If you are not signed up for camp this season Drumlin Farm still has lots of fun activities throughout the summer and is definitely worth a visit. Activities change seasonally, and be sure to stop by the Farm Stand, and if organic food and sustainable farming are important to you, then check out their CSA program!
