One of the great benefits of living in Bedford and other nearby towns is the sense of community and opportunities to gather together to celebrate the season. One example is the Town's Annual Tree Lighting on the Town Common tomorrow, Sat, Dec 5 at 5:30pm.
And from 4 to 8pm, before and after the tree lighting, residents and visitors are encouraged to walk to participating Bedford Center businesses on the first Bedford Walkabout sponsored by the Bedford Department of Recreation and Economic Development, Healthy Bedford, and the Bedford Chamber of Commerce. This event is intended to highlight Bedford Center businesses and encourage residents to walk to our local stores and restaurants as well as showcase Bedford's many home-based businesses and businesses located in other areas of Town.
The quality of our daily lives are positively impacted by having healthy local businesses unique to our community and the best way we can maintain the character of our neighborhoods is to support those businesses by shopping and eating at locally-owned shops or availing ourselves of services offered by local service providers. And who doesn't need the exercise?! We'll be welcoming friends and visitors in the offices of Suzanne & Company at 90 Great Road -- right across the street -- with cider and cookies until 6:30pm and invite you to stop by.
A list and map of participating businesses is available on the Chamber website. And Saturday's forecast is for clear skies and seasonally mild temperatures -- I hope to see there!
