April vacation is fast approaching and once again parents are thinking of ways to keep the kids entertained during the school break. As we did for February school vacation, we have developed a list of some of the area's best things to do during April school vacation. This year April vacation week is April 17th to 21st, meaning not much time to plan.
You might not think of camping in April, but did you know that Normandy Farms, one of New England’s premier camping resorts, offers a host of family-friendly activities during April vacation. Speaking of Foxborough, if you haven’t gone to Patriot’s Place at Gillette Stadium, you really should! With over 19 restaurants, great shops, a movie theater and Tom Brady’s jersey on display at Hall at Patriots Place, there is plenty to do even if you aren’t a Pat’s fan. But you are, right?
Acton Discovery Museums
A bit closer to home, you will find the Discovery Museums in Acton. These three museums have something for kids of all ages. The Children’s Museum is ideal for young toddlers through early elementary and allows them to explore through imagination. The Science Discovery Museum is perfect for those who are scientifically curious. There are special exhibits and kids can build, create, and discover at this interactive museum. Discovery Woods features one of the biggest and coolest tree houses you have ever seen! Kids can climb, jump, swing and explore at this great exhibit.

Acton’s DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum offers great hands-on activities to keep those kids happy! Kids (age 5 to 12) can explore their inner artist while they learn various abstract painting techniques.
