Jail and Bail Fundraiser Set for Bedford Day

Bedford, MA September 20, 2017 – Local Real Estate Team, Suzanne & Company Keller Williams Realty announced today that it will be donating the proceeds from their upcoming Bedford Day Jail and Bail Fundraiser to the relief efforts for those suffering from Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

The “Jail and Bail” fundraiser has community members “arrested” and brought to a mock jail built by local businessmen, Dave Carroll of Carroll Property Maintenance and Andy Sacco of Andrew W. Sacco Construction. While in custody, these “jailbirds” can call friends, relatives, and co-workers to raise bail for their release with all proceeds going toward hurricane relief efforts.

While the planning for the “Jail and Bail” fundraiser began in August, it wasn’t until after our trip to Texas as part of KW Cares “Together for Houston” initiative, that we knew that we needed to do more and to bring awareness of the plight of so many in both Texas and Florida.

Becky Venuti Gould, Team Director at Suzanne & Company explains that the needs of those impacted by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma is great and on-going. “We recently de-mucked houses in the Houston area and saw for ourselves the devastation caused by Mother Nature, not only during the initial storms, but in the aftermath of the storm. We visited a neighborhood impacted by the release of dams and helped a family rummage through their belongings and lifelong treasures, trying to salvage what little remained.”
Suzanne Koller, Broker/Partner adds, “As realtors, it is our business to make dreams come true through the home buying/selling process. However, the work we did in Texas was so heart-breaking as we witnessed first-hand the pure magnitude of the damage caused by the floods.  The money we raise will make a difference in helping those impacted by these storms and we are grateful for the leadership of our parent company, Keller Williams and for the outpouring of support from the Bedford community.”

Please join us on Saturday, September 23rd at Bedford Day to participate in this fun and important fundraiser.  And stay-tuned for a recap blog with photos on our website:
